If you’ve always wanted to start a kennel, there are some very important things to know about doing such a thing. The first is that you can’t just set up shop anywhere and start breeding dogs. In most municipalities you need to have what is called the “kennel license”. You may think that getting one of these licenses would be easy but there are some factors that may affect your ability to get one.

One of these factors is where you live. If you live in the city, chances are that unless you own some industrial property, the zoning laws will prohibit you from owning a dog kennel. These laws are designed to protect the interests of your neighbors because oftentimes people who have kennels, have lots of barking dogs.

It’s in the best interest of you and your future kennel if you are able to set up shop in remote or rural setting. Not everyone can afford to buy a few acres of land in the country as this type of land often sells for a premium in many parts of the country. Fortunately, I’ve been able to track down a couple of places that you can buy this type of land very inexpensively and you can even finance the property from the owners directly.

There are three websites that I was able to find withing ten minutes that offer owner financing for land that is in the country. The first is oregonland.cc. The second is cheap-recreational-land.com. Note that both of these sites appear to be owned by the same person. The second side sells land that is more suitable for recreational purposes but it is in fact owner financed land. The third site is cheapmountainlands.com.

I haven’t taken the time to research whether or not it’s possible to get a license to own a kennel in these areas. I just wanted to point out that within just a couple of minutes, I was able to find websites that sold land in the country very inexpensively.

In all three of the examples that I used, the property is in the mountains of either Northern California or Southern Oregon. When you are setting up the kennel, you need to expect that there will be a lot of barking. Setting up shop and opening a kennel is only the first step to being successful. You need to be able to keep your neighbors happy and if you set up shop in an area where you have many residential neighbors, you may find that they will complain to the city and get your kennel shut down.

The main takeaways for this article are that if you are going to open a kennel, do your best to open it in an area where you have little or no neighbors. The other main takeaway is that you can purchase land by buying it directly from the owner without having to stretch your budget too thin.

Sure it’s common to see a little dog wearing a fashionable sweater but let’s not overlook costumes when it comes to dog clothes. Dressing your playful pooch up in a clever costume can be a lot of fun. Not to mention, the attention that you and your dog will get will be almost to much to handle. Imagine prancing down the street with your dog wearing the cutest little dog clothes and dog collars.

He won’t exactly be the envy of every dog but you’ll be the envy of every dog owner. Dog clothes can make your dog really stand out in a crowd. People often don’t give a second look to someone who is walking their dog. They see this all the time but put some cute dog clothes on your dog and believe me, heads will turn.

When it comes to choosing dog clothing, the sky is really the limit! Dogs can often pull off wearing costumes that would be a total flop if a person tried to wear them. Dogs can get away with wearing the most silly outfits and people just think it’s adorable.

There are web sites all over the Internet dedicated to dog clothes and costumes for your precious puppy. Some sell dog clothes and costumes and some can provide you with some great ideas. There’s certainly no shortage of sources to buy adorable outfits for your pet. Trust me when I say that you’ll have more fun shopping for dog clothing than your dog will have wearing it. Dogs just don’t seem to have a sense of style like people do. I wonder why that is? People notice other peoples clothing and hair. I wonder what a dog thinks when it sees another dog wearing dog clothes? It’s probably pretty confusing to them.

Be creative when picking out the perfect dog clothes! Don’t be afraid to mix and match items from different outfits either. While some people buy expensive clothes for their dogs, a large number people make their own. Some are at home behind a sewing machine and some are clever shoppers. Doll clothes can often be modified to fit your pet without much work. Don’t be afraid to experiment a little with what you choose to dress your dog in.

My daughter has recently developed a love for sewing because she figured out that she can make her own doll clothes. That led to her making all kinds of cute outfits for her stuffed animals and now she’s into making cute little outfits for our little chihuahua. He doesn’t seem impressed by her handiwork but he wears them none the less. I have to admit, it’s pretty cute seeing the clever outfits she comes up with.

You can find cute dog costumes in specialty pet stores. You can also find them in livestock feed stores believe it or not. We have a local feed store that sells all kind of horse and farm supplies and they have a pretty decent selection of dog clothes to choose from.

Another good source of are thrift stores. Believe it or not, you can modify a lot of baby clothing to fit dogs quite easily. Again, I have to tell you about something my daughter did. The other day, the hospital I work at received a big shipment of onesies for newborn babies. The only problem was that all of the sleeves were two feet long! They were hilarious looking! Of course we couldn’t dress the newborns in them so I was able to bring some of them home for my daughter to play with. She saw them and after she stopped laughing, she instantly thought of a use for them. She grabbed a pair of scissors and started cutting away at them. The next thing I knew, she had a hole cut for a tail and shortly after that, one of our dogs was walking around the house sporting a fancy new outfit. I have to admit that I never thought she would make clothes for our dogs out of those silly things.

We have a little old neighbor lady who knits and last winter she saw our little chihuahua shivering. The very next day, she knocked on our door and handed me the cutest little dog sweater for him to wear. Surprisingly enough, he really seems to like it.

You can find all sorts of ideas for dog costumes if you look around your local craft and fabric store as well. Ours even sells patterns so that you can make your own dog clothes if you know how to sew. Last year, my daughter bought a bunch of yarn and made a lions mane for our 150 pound English Mastiff to wear for Halloween. She’s quite creative and comes up will all kinds of ideas. You can too if you just put your mind to it.

So the moral of the story is, use your imagination and go crazy having fun dressing your dog in cute dog clothes. You’re only limited by your imagination!

It is incredible what people will dress their dogs in these days. No class of dog owner is more indulgent than the owners of toy breeds and small dogs.

I have always had sporting dogs and they are lucky to get a bath once a month let alone be adorned with some of these fancy dog clothes. It is amazing to me what is available if you have the cash to spend it on dog clothing.

Let’s start with the basics by talking about dog collars. There are beaded collars starting at the low end of $30 and going to $70. Moving up we have custom leather dog collars in the $100 to $150 range. Next we go to the plain alligator or crocodile collars which are in the $200 to $300 range.

Then there are crystal or pearl dog collars and necklaces that you can buy from between $200 and $350. Let’s not forget snakeskin with diamond jeweled buckle dog collars that will set you back as much as $3000 dollars!

I’ve even seen a one of a kind diamond dog collar with crocodile skin, platinum, white gold and 1657 diamonds for a total diamond weight of 52.2 carat for 3.2 million dollars!

Here’s a short video that shows you this top of the line in luxury dog collars.

Not many people are going to be able to afford these kinds of luxury dog clothes but there are still plenty of cute cloths available that look very stylish. They start out pretty low keyed with tee-shirts, sweatshirts, coats and formal wear for $30 to $100. You can buy dog robes and pajamas for around $75 to $100. Then things start to start to get interesting with designer coats for a little over $100 dollars. You can buy dog tuxedos, dog cocktail dresses, and dog bridesmaid dresses for $150 to $250 for those formal affairs. At the top of the list are designer dog coats made from lambskin, fake fur, and Swarovski crystal adornments for $400 to $1100. This kind of dog clothing can be quite posh and REALLY make quite a statement about both you and your dog!

Now as fashionable as your dog is going to be looking in his new, designer dog clothes, you will need to buy a designer dog carrier to carry him around to the finest establishments in town. The designer cloth dog carriers start at around $200. Then, you get into the fancy designer carriers made out of every type of leather or skin you can imagine including lambskin, leather, snake, kangaroo, and chinchilla. You can expect to pay upwards of $1200 for this kind of luxury.

No pampered pooch would be complete without his own custom doggie furniture. You can buy and armoire for all those special dog clothes for as little as $500 to as much as $14,000. A designer dog bed made for your little angel will run you $1700 to $2000 or more. A deluxe indoor bathroom will be set you back another $2600. Finally you’ll want to be stylish when you take your pooch outside for a bathroom break so you’ll need a crystal dog poo bag holder which you can pick up for a mere $200 dollars.

Did you have any idea that there was such an extensive selection of expensive dog clothes and accessories available in the marketplace for you to choose from?

Your dog may not care how much you spent on his dog clothes but you’ll know. One of the funny things about the upper class is that they really don’t care how much they spend on dog clothing. Buying expensive outfits for their pets is nothing to them and it’s almost considered a necessity in the circle of friends that they run in.

If you want your dog to really stand out in a crowd, you’ll want to buy some designer dog clothes for every day of the week. Don’t embarrass your dog by letting him be caught wearing the same outfit twice in one week. Talk about a faux paw!
