Sure it’s common to see a little dog wearing a fashionable sweater but let’s not overlook costumes when it comes to dog clothes. Dressing your playful pooch up in a clever costume can be a lot of fun. Not to mention, the attention that you and your dog will get will be almost to much to handle. Imagine prancing down the street with your dog wearing the cutest little dog clothes and dog collars. He won’t exactly be the envy of every dog but you’ll be the envy of every dog owner. Dog clothes can make your dog really stand out in a crowd. People often don’t give a second look to someone who is walking their dog. They see that all the time but put some cute dog clothes on your dog and heads will turn.

When it comes to dog clothes and doggy costumes, the sky is really the limit! Dogs can often pull off wearing costumes that would be a total flop if a person tried to wear it. Dogs can get away with wearing the most silly dog clothing and people just thing it’s adorable.

There are web sites all over the Internet dedicated to dog clothes and costumes for your puppy. Some sell dog clothes and costumes and some have great ideas. There’s certainly no shortage of sources to buy adorable dog clothes. You’ll have more fun shopping for dog clothing than your dog will have wearing it. I guarantee you that. Dogs just don’t seem to have the since of style like people do. I wonder why that is. People notice other people clothing and hair. I wonder if a what a dog thinks when it sees another dog wearing dog clothes? It’s probably pretty confusing to them.

Be creative when picking out the perfect dog clothes! Don’t be afraid to mix and match items from different outfits either. While some people buy expensive dog clothes for their dogs, a large number people make their own. Some are at home behind a sewing machine and some are clever shoppers. Doll clothes often be modified to fit your pet without much work. Don’t be afraid to experiment a little with dog clothes for your dog. My daughter has recently developed a love of sewing because she figured out that she can make her own doll clothes. That led to her making all kinds of cute outfits for her stuffed animals, and now she’s into making cute little outfits for our chihuahua. He doesn’t seem impressed by her handiwork but he wears them none the less. I have to admit, it’s pretty cute seeing what kind of clever dog clothes she comes up with.

You can find cute dog costumes at specialty pet stores. You can also find them in feed stores believe it or not. We have a local feed store that sells all kind of horse and farm supplies and they have a pretty decent selection of dog clothes to choose from.

Another good source for dog clothes is thrift stores. Believe it or not, you can modify a lot of baby clothing to fit dogs quite easily. Again I have to tell you about something my daughter did. The other day, the hospital I work at received a big shipment of onesies for newborn babies. The only problem was that all of the sleeves were two feet long. They were hilarious looking. Of course we couldn’t dress the newborns in them so I got to bring some of them home for my daughter to play with. She saw them and after she stopped laughing, she instantly thought of a use for them. She grabbed a pair of scissors and started cutting away at them. The next thing I knew, she had a hole cut for a tail and shortly after that, she had one of our dogs wearing it. I have to admit that I never thought she would make dog clothes out of those silly things.

We have a little old neighbor lady who knits and last winter, she saw our little chihuahua shivering. The very next day, she knocked on our door and handed me the cutest little dog sweater for him to wear. Surprisingly enough, he really seemed to like it.

You can find all sorts of ideas for dog costumes if you look around your local craft and fabric store. Ours even has sells patterns so that you can make your own dog clothes if you know how to sew. Last year, my daughter got a bunch of yarn and made a lions mane for our 150 pound English Mastiff to wear for Halloween. She’s quite creative and comes up will all kinds of ideas. You can too if you put your mind to it.

So the moral of the story is, use your imagination and go crazy having fun dressing your dog in cute dog clothes. You’re only limited by your imagination!

It is incredible what people will put on and buy for their dogs. No class of dog owner is more indulgent than the owners of toy breeds and small dogs. I have always had sporting dogs and they are lucky to get a bath once a month let alone be adorned with some of these fancy dog clothes. It is amazing to me what is available if you have the cash to spend on dog clothing.

Let’s start with the basics like a dog collar. There are beaded collars starting at the low end from 30 to 70 dollars. Moving up we have custom leather dog collars in the 100 to 150 dollar range. Next we go to the plain alligator or crocodile collars 200 to 300 dollar range. Then there are crystal or pearl dog collars and necklaces 200 to 350 dollars. Snakeskin with diamond jeweled buckle dog collars for 3000 dollars. Finally do not forget about the one of a kind diamond dog collar with crocodile, platinum, white gold and 1657 diamonds for a total diamond weight of 52.2 carat for 3.2 million dollars!

On to the dog clothes that start out pretty low keyed with tee-shirts, sweatshirts, coats and formal wear for 30 to 100 dollars. You can buy dog robes and pajamas for around 75 to 100 dollars. Then it starts to get interesting with designer coats for a little over 100 dollars. Dog tuxedos, dog cocktail dresses and dog bridesmaid dresses for 150 to 250 for those formal affairs. At the top of the list is designer dog coats made from lambskin, fake fur, Swarovski crystal adornments for 400 to 1100 dollars. This dog clothing can be quite posh.

Now as fashionable as your dog is in his new dog clothes, you will need to have a designer dog carrier to take them around to the finest in town. The designer cloth dog carriers start at around 200 dollars. Then you get into the fancy designer carriers made out of every type of leather or skin you can imagine including lambskin, leather, snake and kangaroo with chinchilla upward to 1200 plus dollars.

You will have to have furniture for your little precious. You will need an armoire for all those special dog clothes for 500 to 14,000. A designer dog bed made for your angel that will run you 1700 to 2000 or more. A deluxe indoor bathroom will be another 2600 or since you have this much money to spend just hire someone to take your pup out. Finally when you do have to go outside you will need a crystal poop bag holder for a thrifty 200 dollars.

I had no idea there was such a selection of expensive dog clothes and accessories out there in the market place for your pup. Of course all of these dog clothes are sized for a toy breed; a bigger breed will be more expensive. Round it out with some gold dog bone jewelry for yourself for right at 1000 dollars and you and your best pal can definitely be styling.

Your dog may not care what you spent of his dog clothes but you will know. The upper class really doesn’t care how much they spend on dog clothing. Buying expensive dog clothes is nothing to them and it’s almost considered a necessity in the circle that they run in.

If you want your dog to stand out in a crowd, you’ll need some designer dog clothes for every day of the week.

The first thing that everyone does when they get a new dog is rush to the store to buy dog supplies. Once they’re in the store, the first thing they do is go to the dog collar isle. They then start marveling at the hundreds and hundreds of different dog collars to choose from. There are leather dog collars, nylon dog collars, metal dog collars, cotton dog collars, designer dog collars, personalized dog collars, fancy dog collars, and plain dog collars.

With so many choices in such a huge variety in the huge modern pet stores, how is one to choose the perfect collar for the new pet? I would suggest to you that there’s no reason to choose just one. There are different types of collars for different purposes.

Leather dog collars: Leather dog collars can be very stylish. There are many varieties. Some are plain and some are fancy. Leather dog collars are fine for indoors but if your dog is outdoors a lot, you should probably consider an alternative style of collar. Leather and wet weather usually don’t get along very well.

Nylon dog collars: This type of caller isn’t quite as fancy as a leather dog collar but it is generally much more durable. This type of collar is more of the utilitarian type of dog collar. Your dog can wear this both indoors and out no matter what type of weather he is faced with.

Metal dog collars: If your dog’s collar is made from metal it is most likely a dog training collar. While not all dog training callers are made from metal, the majority of them are. This type of collar should be used only when training your dog. When you have completed your training session, the collar should be removed and replaced with another type. Metal dog collars are often designed to slide and choke the dog should they become unruly. When used with a gentle touch they can be most effective. When used with harsh hands, they can be torture devices. If left on the dog while unattended, it is possible that the chain would get hooked on something and possibly choke your dog.

Cotton Dog Collars: Cotton dog collars often have very cute designs embroidered on them. Many people choose to have their dogs names embroidered on them. They can be very cute to look at and fun to change from occasion to occasion. They’re not as durable as nylon dog collars and should not be left on your dog fulltime if your dog is an outside dog.

Designer dog collars: Designer dog collars are very fashionable these days. Designer dog collars are made by high fashion designers and are very trendy. Unfortunately all along with the trendy nature of these dog collars comes a hefty price. Once again these callers are usually very ornate and should not be left on if your dog is left outside all of the time or even if your dog is left outside in the poor. You wouldn’t wear a nice leather jacket in a snowstorm nor should you let your dog wear his fancy designer dog collar in the snow.

Personalizeddog collars: It can be quite convenient to have a personalized dog collar. Many of these callers have a metal nameplate riveted to the collar. Should your dog become lost, the metal nameplate is very easy to spot in your chances of getting your precious pet back are much higher. Some personalized dog collars have very ornate embroidery on them. These custom dog collars can be made in virtually endless ways. You are only limited by your imagination. If your pets personalized a collar is made from leather or other material that may not hold up very well in the weather, you should change to a more utilitarian type of caller like a nylon dog collar before letting him run outside in the rain.

As you can see there are many types of collars to choose from. And you can also see there’s no reason to choose just one. Buy your puppy a selection and dress him up in his fancy collar when he goes to town and maybe put on his nylon collar when he swims in the river. Have fun with it. There’s no reason to stick to any hard and fast rules.
